Our Vision
To be Kentucky's premier destination for addiction treatment, breaking down barriers to care and ensuring that every Kentuckian has access to quality, affordable addiction medicine regardless of their location or ability to pay.
Bruce Cohen
Founder & CEO
Leadership in Addiction Medicine
Bruce Cohen founded Kentucky Center for Addiction Medicine (KCAM) in 2013 with a vision to provide comprehensive, medical-led addiction treatment throughout Kentucky. Under his leadership, KCAM has grown to serve patients across the state with locations in Louisville and Salem.
As CEO, Bruce has been instrumental in developing KCAM's patient-centered approach that combines medication-assisted treatment (MAT) with counseling, behavioral therapy, and ongoing medical support. His commitment to accepting Medicaid and working with patients regardless of their ability to pay has made quality addiction treatment accessible to thousands of Kentuckians.
Bruce's leadership philosophy centers on removing barriers to treatment and ensuring that every patient receives compassionate, evidence-based care. He has been a strong advocate for expanding telehealth services, particularly to reach rural Kentucky communities that have historically had limited access to addiction medicine specialists.
Our Story
KCAM Founded
Bruce Cohen established Kentucky Center for Addiction Medicine with the mission of providing medical-led addiction treatment in Kentucky. The first location opened in Louisville to serve Jefferson County and surrounding areas.
Expansion & Growth
KCAM expanded services to include comprehensive outpatient programs (IOP and PHP) and strengthened partnerships with Kentucky Medicaid managed care organizations to ensure broad access to treatment.
Telehealth Innovation
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing need for accessible care, KCAM pioneered secure telehealth services via Google Meet, making treatment available to patients throughout rural Kentucky.
Western Kentucky Expansion
KCAM opened its Salem clinic at 119 West Main Street to better serve Western Kentucky communities. This location provides both in-person care and serves as a hub for regional telehealth services.
Continued Excellence
Today, KCAM continues to lead Kentucky in medical-led addiction treatment, serving patients across the state with comprehensive care that includes MAT, counseling, and family support services. Our commitment remains unchanged: accessible, compassionate, evidence-based addiction medicine for all.
Our Values & Approach

We treat every patient with dignity, respect, and understanding. Addiction is a medical condition, not a moral failing.
